The first printing of Ideas to Impact: Secure Check-in has an error in the formula used in the article "Best Practices for Implementing Check-in." On page 18, please note that the formula highlighted in green should be:

Number of Families ÷ ( Heaviest Traffic Time (sec) ÷ Check-in Goal (sec) ) = # Workstations

EXAMPLE: The church has a main entrance that many families use on Sunday mornings. At the entrance, 60 families come during the heaviest traffic time (a 15-minute period before worship). The goal of the church is for each family to check in in 20 seconds or less. Therefore, divide the heaviest traffic time in seconds—900 (15 min X 60 sec = 900 sec)—by the check-in goal time in seconds—20 (this gives a total of 45). Then divide the number of families (60) by the previous equation’s answer (45), and the church will need to place 2 workstations at that entrance. Round the number up if the calculation results in a fractional number (as in our example). It is always better to have one more check-in station than necessary than too few with waiting families. Similar calculations can be made for each entrance used by families in the church.
